Transcendence 2- Belief and Identity

Beliefs and identities appear to be always linked.  Additional problems arise when we imagine these beliefs and identities are further linked to some ultimate truth.  We do not see beliefs and identities for what they are – reflections of how we see and interpret the world.  Rather, we maintain these beliefs and identities as if they are hardened facts.  In actuality, beliefs and identities are fluid reflections of how we think and engage with the world.       

How is our understanding of beliefs and identities altered if we see them as fluid reflections of how we think?   

 

 

How much do we open up the possibility for Transcendence in the world, when we see our beliefs and identities related to others as flexible, rather than firm and unchanging?
